Quincy Bioscience is committed to understanding and treating the pathology of neurodegenerative diseases and bringing novel therapeutics to the marketplace. Quincy Bioscience anticipates that the development of this protein-based technology will lead to promising therapeutics for stroke and the spectrum of neurological based diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson's. In each of these conditions it is known that calcium-binding proteins decrease and lead to brain cell death (neurodegeneration).

It is our hypothesis that both cellular dysfunction and cellular death can be averted and or ameliorated when intracellular calcium dysregulation is managed. By binding the uncontrolled release of calcium ions during and sometimes after acute or chronic insults to the cell, the cytotoxic affects of excess calcium might be averted and normal cellular responses to the etiological agents of disease are preserved. These normal responses are aimed at repair and regeneration. By assisting the body in the management of the intracellular calcium ion, natural aging can be slowed down enhancing the productivity of human life.
